Find trip reports and practical tips for a place
activity · Proposed launch phase 3
Start from HomeReview as Paid member
User story
As a paid member, I want to browse trip reports and field knowledge by place so I can learn from local experience before an outing.
Draft requirements for review · Updated 2026-10-19
What the app should do
- Discover a named trip reflection or field observation from its place hub and open the matching native article.
- Show its title, credited author, regional context, reading and contextual conversation.
- Return to the originating place with browser Back; preserve the connection to that place.
- Use fictional past trip/field material for this demo, not real current observations, terrain advice or an imported historical catalog.
- Use the active Paid member role fixture for member-only actions. A free account or a professional identity does not supply paid access. The review identity is a genuine local account; another account’s checkout state stays separate.
What to check in the demo
Follow these steps from the role’s landing page through navigation and feature checks.
Paid member
Start here: HomeBegin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.
Navigation from sign-in
- 01Open the fictional Paid member account through the connected sign-in service. Seeded Home review opens directly. Real HOL staff access and protected actions require an authenticator check.
- 02Select Explore in the main navigation and select Mount Mansfield to open its place panel.
Feature checks start here
Places
Ready for frontend review in dev only; original fictional content, local discussion and genuine local account access. Content/discussion are local previews; historical catalog migration is not included.
- 03Feature review starts: from Mount Mansfield, select A deep day above Underhill and verify the matching native trip reflection, author and regional context.
- 04Use browser Back to return to the place, then open Bolton Valley and A cold start above Bolton.
- 05Read the contextual field knowledge and its discussion; return to the originating place. These are fictional past reflections, not live route or conditions advice.
Before this can work
- Begin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.
- Current fictional editorial/discussion fixtures in dev and the sample-account review controls; no real credentials or service connection.
No prerequisite story has been confirmed. The setup above describes the content or decisions needed.
