As a paid member, I want to experience a photography gallery so I can view photography as a first-class work.

What the app should do

  • Persist gallery work metadata, ordered frame/media references, caption/credit/alt text and access. Fetch permitted frames only; gated gallery content must not be embedded in a public connected bundle.
  • Present photography as a full-screen gallery with image selection and captions.
  • Support moving through the gallery, including keyboard navigation where offered.
  • Connect saving to My Backcountry and conversation to the related content.
  • Use the agreed demo scope: photographer credits and rights review are excluded from this story at Andy’s direction.

Begin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.

Navigation from sign-in

  1. 01Open the fictional Paid member account through the connected sign-in service. Seeded Home review opens directly. Real HOL staff access and protected actions require an authenticator check.
  2. 02From this role’s Home use footer Explore → Stories, then Open Beyond the Frame. The feature starts at the gallery for a paid account, or its membership gate for an unpaid account.

Public-content reads are available for dev review; full story acceptance and stakeholder approval remain separate. Navigation and feature checks can be reviewed in the current demo.

  2. 04Select images, enter/exit full-screen and try supported keyboard controls.
  3. 05Read captions and inspect the related conversation.
  4. 06Check saving and return navigation for this paid identity; record missing controls as incomplete.

What needs to be supported

  • Persist gallery work metadata, ordered frame/media references, caption/credit/alt text and access. Fetch permitted frames only; gated gallery content must not be embedded in a public connected bundle.

How to verify in dev

  1. Verify published-only anonymous projection, no private/protected payload, stable IDs and links, missing/unpublished records, empty/loading/error UI, and no silent static fallback. Idempotent seed rerun preserves edited records; authenticated/dummy Home entry remains unchanged.
  2. Review the public gallery description signed out; full viewing follows its actual access classification, with ordered frames/captions only when permitted.
