Set up my professional profile
people · Proposed launch phase 2
Start from HomeReview as Registered user
User story
As a registered member, I want to add Guide, Creator and Athlete identities to my profile so people can discover my work and expertise.
Draft requirements for review · Updated 2026-10-19
What the app should do
- A Creator, Guide or Athlete has one coherent named person/account with combined Professional tools. Open the selected permitted destination; when no landing preference has been selected, show magazine Visitor Home without removing professional eligibility.
- Use one account and one public person profile with any combination of Guide, Creator and Athlete labels; ordinary setup is self-service without HOL professional approval.
- Edit a draft bio, image, selected roles, expertise, broad regions/service areas, public website and published-work links. Guide qualifications are self-declared unless separately verified.
- Require verified email before first publication. Keep private account email, interests, saves and evidence out of the public projection; offer an explicit publish action.
- Show only the selected roles and relevant sections; one Professional workspace combines their tools. Keep existing reader entitlement and organization assignments unchanged.
- Use two-sided affiliation confirmation through D098. An ordinary label or publication never creates a verified credential, editorial authority, staff role or paid entitlement.
- Link existing professional editing from shared account navigation, preserving one combined Guide/Creator/Athlete identity, explicit private draft/public preview/publication and intentionally distinct public fields. Private Member edits never silently publish or overwrite this public name/photo/draft; a Professional-editor redesign is later scope.
What to check in the demo
Follow these steps from the role’s landing page through navigation and feature checks.
Begin on the free Member Home. For a local example use Sign in → Try a demo account → Alex Morgan → Open account, then choose Member in the account/workspace menu if a remembered workspace opens. This is a genuine local account; no paid access is supplied.
Navigation from sign-in
- 01Open the fictional Registered user account through the connected sign-in service. Seeded Home review opens directly. Real HOL staff access and protected actions require an authenticator check.
- 02From this role’s Home open the account/workspace menu → Professional profile, or Professional → Edit professional profile. The feature starts at Public name, Profile address and Professional labels.

Set up my professional profile
October19 scoped dummy-account fixes are available in dev. Named Home/reload and truthful profile checks pass; exact no-preference Professional browser coverage awaits a suitable account. Full-story acceptance remains separate. Connected in dev; full acceptance remains In progress. Multiple professional labels, bio, image and website save/publish through the service and appear on public profile/directory pages after sign-out. Pre-verification temporary setup and stale-edit review remain open.
- 03Compare a professional person’s private account/menu, Professional Home and public profile name. Test explicit Professional selection, saved eligible preference and no preference separately; no new paid professional tier is included.
- 04Enter Public name and Profile address; select Guide, Creator and/or Athlete under Professional labels, then complete biography, region and other public fields.
- 05Use Save private draft, then Publish profile with verified email. Open account/workspace menu → Professional → View public profile and compare the same person.
- 06Normal publication has no HOL approval. Check that self-entered qualifications do not claim verified standing and that personal paid membership remains independent.
- 07Use an unverified test account separately to inspect its publishing restriction. Do not remove labels or overwrite a stakeholder’s public profile as routine review setup.

What needs to be supported
- A Creator, Guide or Athlete has one coherent named person/account with combined Professional tools. Open the selected permitted destination; when no landing preference has been selected, show magazine Visitor Home without removing professional eligibility.
- Store an account-to-person unique mapping, selected professional labels, private draft revision, owner-published public revision, permitted profile fields and visibility state. Keep verified evidence in separate records.
- Use one trusted account ID; keep email verification, professional labels, reader entitlement, organization-scoped access and internal HOL staff assignments independent.
- Validate actor, organization/person IDs, current access and expected revision at the trusted boundary. Remembered workspace, URL, fixture choice and client flags never grant permissions.
- Persist only the records needed for this outcome, including owner-scoped drafts and decision/assignment/consent audit where applicable. Keep private evidence and contacts out of public projections.
- Enforce the selected requirements above in database/API policies, with idempotent transitions, concurrent-update handling and denied cross-account writes.
- Use isolated local synthetic data only; no hosted migration, public service connection, real credentials/recipients, live payment or deployment.
- Bind one public person to one account with multiple self-declared labels and a separate verified-claim record; verified email gates publication, not a HOL professional decision.
How to verify in dev
- Compare a professional person’s private account/menu, Professional Home and public profile name. Test explicit Professional selection, saved eligible preference and no preference separately; no new paid professional tier is included.
- Add Guide and Creator to the same account, publish after email verification, then compare one canonical person in People/detail/credits; unverified and other-owner publication attempts must fail.
- Test owner, manager, unrelated account, unverified account and permitted HOL staff where relevant; deny self-grants and cross-organization access.
- Exercise success, interrupted/repeated requests, expiry/revocation and stale/concurrent updates; verify stable identity, correct public visibility and preserved unrelated account data.
Before this can work
- Begin on the free Member Home. For a local example use Sign in → Try a demo account → Alex Morgan → Open account, then choose Member in the account/workspace menu if a remembered workspace opens. This is a genuine local account; no paid access is supplied.
- Use a fictional registered member account and begin at its Home with its actual permitted context.
- Use actual local provider sessions and persisted state; record connected UI and direct permission checks separately.
