React to and share a published story

Start from HomeReview as Paid member
User story
As a paid member, I want to react to and share an accessible published work so I can engage with a story, gallery, or video in context.
Draft requirements for review · Updated 2026-10-19
What the app should do
- On The Long Way In, use the local story reaction, save, contextual comment and copy-link share actions.
- Keep comment likes and author-only pending submissions in the shared local conversation state.
- Remaining acceptance: extend and verify the appropriate save/reaction/share set across story/gallery/video works and discovery placements. The main story and comment likes alone do not establish the complete cross-surface acceptance.
- Use the active Paid member role fixture for member-only actions. A free account or a professional identity does not supply paid access. The review identity is a genuine local account; another account’s checkout state stays separate.
What to check in the demo
Follow these steps from the role’s landing page through navigation and feature checks.
Begin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.
Navigation from sign-in
- 01Open the fictional Paid member account through the connected sign-in service. Seeded Home review opens directly. Real HOL staff access and protected actions require an authenticator check.
- 02From paid Member Home select Read the story to open The Long Way In. The feature starts at Save, the article Like button, the conversation link and Share.

The Long Way In
Partial frontend implementation is available in dev. Review the delivered links/actions below; remaining acceptance is listed explicitly. No connected backend is implied.
- 03On The Long Way In use Like The Long Way In, Save and Share. Share copies the canonical page link and shows Link copied; it is not a social-post composer.
- 04Use the conversation link or scroll to Continue the story. Like a comment, use Reply or Add to the conversation, then Submit comment; the new note remains pending for its author.
- 05Open the same original through Community, Search or its creator portfolio and compare the identity and local engagement state. Cross-service engagement and hosted moderation are not implied.
Before this can work
- Begin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.
- Current fictional editorial/discussion fixtures in dev and the sample-account review controls; no real credentials or service connection.
No prerequisite story has been confirmed. The setup above describes the content or decisions needed.
